Nikki Woods is an artist who lives and works in Cleveland, OH. Her lush, psychologically resonant paintings explore the practice as a form of divination, a way of seeking, revealing, and channeling hidden knowledge. Drawing from collected image ephemera from the past and present, Woods taps into personal and collective memory to create space for shared meaning-making. With direct, confident brushwork and an exuberant color palette, Woods deftly negotiates pop culture, art history, and mysticism to conjure a glimpse of another world. Her work has been featured in three major solo exhibitions at HEDGE Gallery in Cleveland and numerous notable group exhibitions, including the museum exhibition "The Regional," which was hosted at the Contemporary Art Center (Cincinnati, OH) and the Kemper Museum (Kansas City, MO).
