Clara Rival is a painter born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and currently based in Barcelona. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, specializing in Painting, from the National University of the Arts (UNA) in Buenos Aires. Her artistic practice has developed through an ongoing process of research, studio work, and international exchange. Over the years, she has participated in exhibitions, art fairs, residencies, and artistic programs across Argentina, Mexico, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and the United States. Her work has been presented in both institutional and independent exhibition contexts, as well as international art fairs, and has received recognition through grants, public selection processes, and artistic competitions. Rival’s practice is centered on painting as a space for exploration, where personal experience, imagination, and shifting perceptions intersect. Her work moves between the intimate and the uncanny, developing images that invite contemplation while maintaining a sense of ambiguity and openness. Her work is currently exhibited and represented internationally, with a growing presence in Spain, France, and beyond.
