Jarvis Woodman (b. Bristol, 1995). A graduate of MLitt Fine Art Practice Glasgow School of Art 22 and BA Illustration Animation Kingston School of Art 20. Jarvis’ work is inspired by a combination of observation, memory and imagination. It represents the importance of an exposure to nature, music and art as a way of self-reflection and rediscovery. Drawing is a way to reflect on their experiences, connecting places with memory and sensation. This has resulted in continuing to create work at a fast pace, with a focus on process. Jarvis believes there is a healing power to drawing, which enables them to reach a space that offers a complete connection with what they can see and feel. Jarvis hopes to make drawings that are reflective of this, but also provide a form of release and escape for others.
