Varvara actively practices automatic drawing where she captures and develops appearing shapes in the streaming pencil scribbles. This way metaphorical forms of fantastical shimmering worlds are born. In this process the images appear before they’re recognised and verbalised; they stay unformulated and free for metamorphosis. The centre of the artist’s interest is the boards of dreams and awakening, as well as state of fluidity and transformation. These themes appear in the forms of hybrid creatures such as mermaids, sphinxes, centaurs and archetype figures like alchemists, magicians and priests. Vyvique’s artworks don’t assume defined interpretation and are open for various interpretations where the life of these visions continues.
