Anouk Wolse (b. 1986) is a Dutch Canadian artist. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Canada in 2010 and has lived in Europe since 2014. Her work explores feelings of alienation and nostalgia and what representations of nature can reveal about human nature. Her compositions are purposefully ambiguous, with figures interacting with each other and their environment outside of a fixed time or place. These imagined landscapes and tableaux invite interpretation but resist a single narrative, allowing the viewer to invent their own story. Her work has been exhibited in Switzerland, Canada, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy. She lives and works in Zürich.
