Too overwhelmed to understand

My name is Kevin Reismann. I am 33 years old and a self-taught artist from Cologne. I was born in Düsseldorf, grew up in a small town in the northwest of Germany, and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Media Law. Without any formal artistic training, I gradually developed my knowledge and skills through steady engagement with painting, guided by intuition and curiosity. My works bring together realistic and imaginative elements, often depicting living beings in various poses and scenarios. Their aesthetics are intended to be lively and multifaceted, aiming for a sense of balance between contrasting aspects. In my recent works, the focus has shifted towards lightness and atmosphere. Rather than emphasizing strong contrasts, I explore how movement, light, and color can transform everyday scenes into vibrant, sometimes dreamlike spaces. This approach allows me to remain open during the creative process and search for what I call the “magic” of a picture – the moment when form and content begin to resonate. My goal is to draw the viewer into my works for a few minutes and make them experience the essence of the scene.
