The Kiss

Xen Ruiz is a self-thaught Spanish painter currently living and working in Berlin, GER. In response to an avid interest in human emotions, Xen explores the tension between the theatrical and the everyday, mixing these two seemingly opposite worlds: the simplicity of the ordinary versus the drama and the absurd, thus enveloping the viewer in a nostalgic atmosphere that feels both distant and familiar. Through this melancholic, humorous and sometimes provocative imaginary world, Xen intends to invite the viewer to reflect on themes such as the passage of time, identity, love and loneliness; to get lost in the game of a search for answers that may never be revealed.
