Monster, they said
Guido Sarti was born in 1993 in Florence, Italy. He began his artistic path as a child, painting watercolors with his dad and copying animal pictures from National Geographic. In 2014, he graduated from the Italian Academy of Arts, Fashion and Design with a degree in Visual Communication. He currently lives and works in Vienna, Austria.
Sarti’s paintings are a research into human ways of being, how people search for meaning, construct purpose, and confront their own fragility. In each work there’s a world that stands on its own, a self-sustaining universe that appears truly inhabited by the vibrant energy of shared existence. Rather than telling stories, Sarti uses theatrical narrative to stage moments of realization, ambiguity, or quiet collapse. On this stage, a quest becomes the eternal chase that we are all on, a fragile thread that keeps our personal narrative alive. In the vast space of collective experience, amongst personal symbols and archetypes, the work explores the tension between the quiet narratives we live by and the dark truths that surface when those narratives begin to unravel.
