Anna Piazza is an Italian figurative painter based in Paris. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and, after several years of academic research and university teaching, gradually devoted herself to painting. Her practice is informed by philosophical readings, such as Merleau-Ponty and Deleuze, while remaining rooted in the language of painting itself. Working primarily in oil, she creates figures drawn from inner images, often centred on women and moments of vulnerability, ambiguity and quiet tension. Her paintings inhabit a suspended time, where gesture, colour and form evoke a psychological space beyond narrative.
