Artist: Parsa Ghahremaninejad (FR/IR)

Born in Tehran and based in Paris, Iranian painter Parsa Ghahremaninejad explores the body as a space of memory, displacement, and emotional reconstruction. Having left Iran at the age of nine, his work is deeply shaped by a fractured sense of belonging, navigating between past and present, intimacy and collective memory. Self-taught, he began painting in 2020 as an instinctive response to emotions that could not yet be expressed through words. His paintings emerge from tension: fragmented bodies, distorted figures, vivid colors, and suspended gestures become traces of psychological states, exile, spirituality, and transformation. Oscillating between figuration and abstraction, his work creates symbolic spaces where fragility and resilience coexist. Alongside his self-taught practice, he is currently taking drawing courses at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, further deepening his approach to the body and representation. His practice has been exhibited in Paris, notably through a solo exhibition at Galerie La La Lande, collective exhibitions, and a charity auction at Hôtel Drouot in collaboration with Amnesty International and IESA (Institut d’études supérieures des arts). His work has also been referenced by platforms including MutualArt and Gazette Drouot.
