Ashni (b. 2002) is a painter and illustrator whose practice centres on  intimate observations of the everyday. Her work explores the small  gestures and emotional textures of domestic life, where comfort and  discomfort often coexist. Through these moments, she examines  femininity, intimacy, and the subtle negotiations of selfhood that  unfold within private spaces.  Working primarily with oil paint and oil pastels, she moves between  careful observation and instinctive mark-making. Thin layers of oil  allow her to build slow, reflective images, while the immediacy of  pastel introduces spontaneity and restlessness.
