Tamar Sulakvelidze, born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1989, is an artist deeply committed to the practice of painting. Her preferred medium is oil on canvas, through which she connects with and expresses her inner self. Tamar has participated in exhibitions in Georgia, held a solo exhibition in Paris, France, and showcased her work in Mexico City. She began painting in childhood as a form of self-expression. Throughout her artistic journey, she has explored various mediums, including textile painting, 3D design, architecture, and, most recently, production design in film. Tamar’s formal artistic education began at Tbilisi I. Nikoladze Art College in 2004. She continued her studies at the Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts, where she earned her Master’s degree in 2014. These academic experiences honed her technical skills and provided a foundation for her evolving artistic expression. The moon is a central theme in Tamar’s work, symbolizing the subconscious. She views painting as a reflection of one’s hopes, fears, dreams, and desires. Her art seeks to illuminate these hidden aspects, inviting viewers to explore their own inner worlds. Tamar values the diverse perspectives her audience brings, which enrich her artistic process and deepen the emotional resonance of her paintings. Her goal is to transcend the canvas and inspire personal reflection.
