What Was Left When the Light Changed
Jadyn Veronika Bennett is a self-taught abstract painter whose work explores identity, emotion, and the human condition. Born in post-Soviet Romania and orphaned young, she and her sister navigated a series of Eastern European institutions before being adopted at thirteen and relocating to Georgia. Art was her constant; an instinctive refuge where she began to shape a sense of self.
Her paintings are raw and gestural, layered with bold color, textured surfaces, and unresolved tension. Each piece remains in flux—unfinished, evolving—reflecting a process rooted in intuition and a resistance to closure. Influenced by her past and the spontaneous creativity of her young niece and nephew, her work embraces imperfection as a form of honesty. It is a practice of rediscovery; inviting viewers into a shared space of searching and becoming.
