Steven John Owen is a self taught abstract painter, born and based in Bristol, UK. His work explores colour, shape and texture, with many of his paintings inspired by photographs taken from everyday life. Working with custom-made oil pastels, created by melting and mixing colours to create his own palette, he builds paintings in layers, focusing on simple forms, balance and texture. He works from  his art studio in Bristol.
